From the early roots of African rhythms and spirituals to the modern-day genres of hip hop, R&B, and jazz, Black music has been a vital part of America and Europe's cultural fabric for centuries.

BMAM celebrates the artistry, innovation, and creativity of Black music, while also recognizing the impact it has had on society and its role in shaping history. Our mission is to promote understanding and appreciation of Black music, to recognize and preserve its rich legacy, and to inspire the next generation of musicians and music lovers.
